Kinesiology, the study of human movement, is a rapidly growing field.

I am currently in my final year of the B. Ed. in Kinesiology Program at McGill University in Montreal.

 

Kinesiologists seek to quantify differences between human performance (and at elite levels like the swimmers shown above, that is quite a challenge!) We need to be more specific: there is more than one branch of study in the field. Three major areas of research within kinesiology are biomechanics - the physics behind the movement; exercise physiology - the biochemistry behind the movement; and sport psychology - the brain power behind the movement.
